A Great Way to Save for College: Match Your Children's Monetary Gifts!

When my daughter was born, my husband and I decided that we would match any monetary gift that my daughter receives, and put it into her college account. She is two now, and we still continue to do this. It has worked out very well and I am starting to see the benefits from it.

For example, if she gets $50, we put that $50 into her college account, plus another $50 from us. If she even gets $10, we match it, putting $20 into her account. We plan to do this until she turns 18 and is ready to head off to college.

Every little bit helps, and this has been a great way to boost her education fund, early on.

How do you save for your kids college? What has worked for you? Leave your tips below!
